MILTON Keynes Dons Football Club has made enough energy saving from improving their IT to put a bit towards a new player in the January transfer window.

The club worked with S3 Consulting, based in Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes to improve their IT performance and availability, save money and reduce energy needs.

Energy savings at stadium:mk equate to more than £8,000. S3 Consulting has also entered into a new sponsorship deal with the Dons and has unveiled stadium advertising.

S3 Consulting’s work included implementing virtualisation, a technique for allowing multiple operating systems and applications to run on a single physical computer server.

Steve Ward, the head of IT at MK Dons, said: “Our IT infrastructure had come to the stage we had outgrown our tape backups and disaster recovery was a consideration.”
