THE Milton Keynes-based company owned by top entrepreneur Paul Tomlinson has achieved a UK first.
Mirus IT, in Sunrise Parkway, Linford Wood, has become the first managed service provider in the UK to achieve the MSP Partner Trust Mark with IT industry association CompTIA.
Mirus MD Paul Tomlinson, who founded the company in 2002, was awarded the title of Entreprenuer of the Year in the Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
A company spokesman said: “We’re delighted to announce we’re the first managed service provider in the UK to achieve the MSP Partner Trust Mark, the trust mark is based around the processes we follow within our business and these have been defined from the senior management team and other members of the team.
“It’s an incredible achievement for us to be the first to be recognised with this award, we are very proud of our team and their efforts in providing the best proactive IT support.”
The accreditation process includes successfully completing an online application covering the company’s control framework, which includes agreeing to a code of conduct and providing three customer references.
The CompTIA MSP Partners Trustmark is a un-audited self-reporting process business credential designed to qualify and differentiate organisations providing on-premise IT services via a managed services business model.
CompTIA says this credential separates organisations making a commitment to the managed services model from those claiming to do so by making enquiries into a number of business and technology fundamentals.
The fundamentals include management and finance, services and operations.
Mirus IT’s services include support, networking and security, disaster recovery and business continuity and telephony.
