A Bradwell Abbey businessman has become a charity champion for Willen Hospice, with a challenge to raise £10,000.

Richard Banks, co-founder of designer bathroom supplier BathWorks, launched his year-long challenge on Father’s Day in June, by taking part in the London to Brighton bike ride with his friends Paul and Nick.

After that, Richard set up his fundraising stall at the Willen Cup Challenge weekend and is now planning a kid’s’ seven-a-side competition for U10 and U13 versus adults, at Power League Walnut Tree on Sunday, August 9.

A BathWorks charity team versus Willen vets football team is on the cards for September, followed by a London to Milton Keynes bike ride in October.

Richard said: “Willen Hospice does a fantastic job caring for people with cancer and their superb work can only continue with help. I know the £10,000 I am hoping to raise will be put to good use.”
