Staff and cadets from the Newport Pagnell Navy Training Corps have extended their thanks to parents and children.

The message came after the group held a successful Open Day on Saturday, July 2, at The Green Park Community Centre, Newport Pagnell.

The staff and cadets welcomed the executive member of the Navy Training Corps, Lt Cdr Carol Hale.

Throughout the day there were many displays of seamanship, first aid and camping.

Chairman, Mr Rhys Leigh-Lancaster, said “The children had a great time tying knots, piping and learning about some of our other fun activities like sailing and kayaking. This is a great opportunity for the children to learn new skills and become part of a team building their confidence and learning the history and traditions of the Royal Navy.”

The junior section includes children between the ages of eight and 12-years-old, with the cadet section ranging from 12 to 18-years-old.
