A bowel cancer seminar is taking place at the Open University this month, thanks to a woman who is taking on a 104-mile challenge to fight the disease.

Lisa Hewer, who works in Milton Keynes, is taking on four marathons this year to raise funds for Bowel & Cancer Research, in memory of her father who died of the condition when she was 16.

As part of her efforts a free lunchtime seminar about bowel disease and research is taking place at the OU in Milton Keynes on Wednesday, March 25. The guest speaker will be the chief executive of the charity Bowel & Cancer Researchfrom 1pm.

Cakes will be on sale, along with free tea and coffee.
