A WOMAN who has raised over £250,000 for Willen Hospice will run with the Olympic Torch on July 9.
Sheila Kemble, who lost a close friend to cancer 14 years ago, has already run three London Marathons, a New York Marathon, undertaken the Three Peaks Challenge, organised three large fashion shows at The Stables and taken part in numerous other events.
She will now be one of 8,000 torchbearers taking part in the relay which started in Cornwall last Friday.
On July 9, Sheila will be running her leg in Aylesbury. Friends and family, as well as Hospice staff, are urging as many people as possible to support.
Willen Hospice chief executive Paul Hinson said: “This is an amazing honour for Sheila, who, during her time as Trustee for Willen Hospice, has raised over £250,000.
“Among her many fundraising activities, Sheila has taken part in a parachute jump, the Extramile Challenge and marathons including the extreme Everest Challenge. We are thrilled her dedication and commitment has been recognised.”
