Volunteers broadcasted live on Milton Keynes Hospital Radio for 30 hours straight to celebrate the station’s birthday.

Over the weekend, the keen DJs welcomed special guests Baroness Wall, chairman of the Hospital NHS Trust and Pete Winkleman, chairman of MK Dons to join in on the fun.

During the finale show, the president of the National Hospital Broadcasting Association presented the station with an award to celebrate 30 years of broadcasting to patients at MK Hospital.

The 30-hour stint helped to raise money to build a new second studio for the station.

Volunteers believe the extra room is needed to allow more new presenters to be trained so that the service can operate for longer periods through the week.
