A CHARITY that combines clubroom activities with caring for and riding horses was deservedly voted as Best Arts, Sports or Community project at this year’s Pride in MK award.

Ride High is based at Bryerley Springs Farm in Great Brickhill and helps children between eight and 17-years-old by introducing them to horse care, teaching them responsibility while also giving them a break from their problematic home lives.

Chairman of Trustees, Rachel Medill, said: “It is such a joy to see them happy, remembering different things and actually learning. They may be children who care for a parent who are not doing well in school. They come here and the change is amazing.”

The charity invites children along one day a week to enjoy the centre and volunteers help them get to and from the farm. There are currently two full time members of staff and a number of volunteers who help the children on a daily basis.
