A pub team leader is celebrating after earning a National Apprenticeship qualification.

Kristen Peters, who works at the Fayre & Square pub at Willen Lake, was one of more than 90 apprentices recognised at a special awards ceremony at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.

The apprenticeship is a twelve month learning and development programme that includes on the job training, individually tailored learning and one to one support, which results in a qualification worth the equivalent of five GCSEs.

Kristen said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship, being able to learn while I work was definitely a key draw for me; allowing me to learn new skills while also building on my practical experience. I’m looking forward to taking on my next apprenticeship and continuing my development.”

Mark Peters, head of learning and development for Spirit, said: “We are proud to recognise our team members that have undertaken apprenticeships. It takes commitment, dedication and determination to complete an apprenticeship and Kristen has shown that she has what it takes to progress.”

Spirit Pub Company owns and manages 791 pubs across the UK under brands such as Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square, Flaming Grill, John Barras and Taylor Walker.
