Chef gets a right grilling

AN award winning chef enjoyed his moment of fame when he appeared in front of Michel Roux Jnr and Greg Wallace on Masterchef: The Professionals.

Executive chef at the Jaipur Armadeep Singh Anand, had his skills tested in the second round of the competition where he displayed his talents by preparing fennel stuffed Sea Bass and Italian meringue with fruit compote.

He was disappointed with being eliminated, but said: “The judges were astonished to see a contestant from an Indian restaurant taking part in a show that requires deep knowledge of French classical cuisine.

“For me personally, meeting Michel Roux Jnr was the real high point of taking part.”

Amardeep was recognised by the South East Asian Chef awards last year where he won the Healthy Heart award at the National Finals.

This came after his skills shone through as he won the regional final of the South East Asian Chef of the year competition.
