A-43-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for nine years after admitting 22 charges relating to the sexual abuse of a child and possessing indecent images of children.

David Matthew Horne, of Warren Bank, Simpson, admitted 18 charges of sexual activity with a child and four counts relating to making, possessing and distributing indecent images when he was sentenced at Amersham Crown Court on Tuesday.

Thames Valley Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team executed a warrant at his home address in October 2011 after receiving information from another force.

Horne’s computers were seized and after examination a child victim was identified. After being interviewed she revealed she had been abused over a period of four years from the age of 13.

Detective Inspector Laura MacInnes said: “This was a very thorough investigation by the investigating officer Det Con Sandra Tearney and Vicky Humphreys from the High Tech Crime Unit.

“I would like to pay tribute to the courage of the victim and I hope the sentencing of David Horne will bring about some form of closure for her and her family.”
