SLEIGH bells were ringing and there was festive cheer aplenty for a group of city youngsters this week.

Sixty lucky students from Orchard School in Springfield enjoyed an early Christmas treat as they visited a seasonal spectacular.

The Year 4 pupils were special guests at a Winter Wonderland display organised by Studio 6 students at The Milton Keynes Academy.

After they had enjoyed a live musical show, the excited eight and nine year olds were blasted by magical snow, received gifts from Father Christmas, created their own decorations.

They even tucked into a fabulous festive lunch.

Academy teacher Darren Thomson said: “It was a fantastic event and seeing the huge smiles on the kids’ faces was just amazing.

“My Year 12 Creative Media and Diploma students decided that they wanted to do something really special for young children so worked very hard for eight weeks on the project.”

Nine-year-old Mintu Sidhu described the event as “lots of fun” and added that he had particularly enjoyed watching the dance performances.

Meanwhile, eight-year-old Faye Crooks was very impressed with the Milton Keynes Academy boy band, Robbed of Silence.
