VIDEO: Milton Keynes Careers Fayre is a resounding success.
The public event, organised by MK Citizen in conjunction with Jobstoday, took place on Friday and Saturday at the Doubletree Hotel at stadium:mk.
It offered a welcome to all job seekers to explore career opportunities in the local area.
The fayre saw hoards of people attend to browse around the stalls and meet face-to-face with 30 city employers.
One visitor, David Lewis, 25, from Furzton, said: “I came here to look for potential options out there for me.”
Mr Lewis, who has just finished higher education course in Software Engineering, added: “I’ve passed on my details to a few stalls. One has already asked me when I’m available for an interview.”
The fayre has been organised to help job hunters find work by exhibiting recruiting companies in the area, as well as providing information about skills and training opportunities available to them.
Alongside the exhibitor stalls, free seminars by the University of Buckingham and the National Careers Service are taking place over the two day event, including CV workshops and interviewing skills.
“I’ve been in and out of jobs since I left school, and I’ve decided its career time,” said James Gillingham, 25, from West Bletchley.
“Speaking to the people on the stalls has encouraged me to build on the skills I already have.”
