A Milton Keynes dentist is getting her teeth stuck into a cross-channel cycle ride from London to Brussels to raise month for charity.
Dr Teresa Day of the Appledore Dental clinic in CMK will be joined by husband Mike in a bid to raise £3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The couple will be cycling for three days, averaging 80 miles per day on their way to Belgium.
Dr Teresa said: “Both of my parents have dementia and it’s hard to see them like this.
“They usually don’t remember if I’ve visited, but at least they remember who I am at the moment, well, most of the time.
“When we moved them into their new home, a secure sheltered flat especially for dementia sufferers, my mum kept saying ‘you look just like my daughter’. She couldn’t seem to get her head around why I was there.
Anything the Alzheimer’s Society do will probably be too late for my parents, but they may be able to help others.”
