A total of 39 youngsters have graduated from the National Citizen Service Action4Youth programme this autumn.
The presentation event was at The Caldecotte Xperience and Mayor Brian White was there to hand out certificates to the graduates in front of their friends and family.
The programme provides young people with a chance to challenge themselves, overcome their fears and develop important life skills, as well as benefiting their community.
One proud parent said: “I’m amazed at the transformation in my son, his confidence has grown and I’m delighted that he has been able to stand in front of everyone this evening and make a presentation.”
One of the groups raised £265 for charity ‘Open Doors Milton Keynes’ by packing bags at Waitrose and having a stall and raffle. The other group was supported by ‘Make a Difference’ who led a graffiti art project and also organised a musical festival.
“We are extremely proud to lead the delivery of the NCS with our partners in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes in 2013,” said Lynda Cockerell, the CEO of Action4Youth.
