A BRAND new play area in Tinkers Bridge was cordoned off within hours of opening after safety bolts worked their way loose as children used it.
The park near Bascote was open a matter of hours on Saturday before concerns were raised that some of the bolts were coming undone. The equipment was cordoned off immediately. No one was injured.
A council spokesman said: “The rest of the park stayed open and there was a site visit on Monday and we put in place a course of action to rectify the matter.
“We have liaised with the manufacturer and contractor and have worked with them, but it seems this is unfortunately one of those one off events.”
All other equipment was safe but was checked as a precautionary measure.
