Plans for a £7 million expansion of the Theatre district- are to go on public show this week.
The proposals include a hotel large enough to create 100 new full time jobs, the Citizen can reveal.
Owned by UGS MK Limited, the Theatre District has also been unfinished, with a large vacant area at the southern end.
Despite being launched as the ‘place where MK eats, drinks and plays’, it has found itself struggling to compete with other facilities in CMK over the past few years.
Spokesman Sara Mills is confident the new investment will put the district back on the ‘top table’.
She said: “We’re finalising our ideas at the moment but have put considerable effort into developing the best solution for the site and are keen now to share our thoughts and see what people think.”
A partner has been lined up to run the hotel which, subject to planning permission, could become a ‘landmark’ building, said Ms Mills.
The plans can be viewed at the former Cheerleaders unit in the Theatre District tomorrow (Friday) between 7pm and 9pm or at Intu Milton Keynes formerly known as Midsummer Place on Saturday between 10am and 2pm.
