The term is starting off on a high for pupils and teachers at Swanbourne House School.
A report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate has given the school the highest grade of ‘excellent’ for the majority of categories, including pupils’ achievements and the quality of teaching.
Pupils’ social, moral and spiritual development, pastoral care and outcomes for boarders were also classed as ‘excellent’ by the team of inspectors, who visited the school in May.
The very rarely awarded new grade of ‘exceptional’ was awarded to the top team sports at Swanbourne House and also to the creativity demonstrated in Art and Design Technology.
Simon Hitchings, who started as headmaster this term, said: “I am proud to be taking over the running of a school with such high academic standards with such a broad range of opportunities.”
