Lions’ roaring success

Lions Club of Bletchley volunteers helped raise food donations

Lions Club of Bletchley volunteers helped raise food donations

Eight trolleys full of food will be distributed to city families in desperate need, thanks to The Lions Club of Bletchley.

The voluntary group carried out its appeal for food donations at Tesco in Bletchley, where generous customers ensured the collection was a roaring success.

As shoppers entered the store, the Lions gave them a list of suitable food items which would be gratefully received by families struggling to stock up their own cupboards.

Upon exiting the store, customers placed their choice of product from the list of suggested items in the collection trolleys.

Donations ranged from several items to almost a whole trolley full of food.

The trolleys were then handed over to the Milton Keynes Food Cupboard for eventual distribution to people in need of help to feed themselves and their children.

The Lions also presented a cheque for £500 to the Food Cupboard.

> The Lions Club of Bletchley like to help others and meet on the first Tuesday of every month at the Campanile in Bletchley.
