A new Tesco Express store in Woburn Sands is to create 21 jobs.

Store manager Jess Walker and her new team will celebrate the launch of the store on Tuesday, January 14, with a £500 donation to the local branch of Age UK.

She said: “I was thrilled by the response we received to our recruitment drive. In this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create 21 new jobs for our local community and help get people back into work.”

The store will present a cheque for £500 to Age UK Milton Keynes as part of its commitment to supporting the local community before inviting a representative from the charity to cut a ribbon to declare the new store officially open.

Age UK Milton Keynes is a local charity that aims to improve later life for older people in the borough of Milton Keynes through the provision of information and advice, services, support and training. The charity shop in Woburn Sands relies on support of customers to provide income to fund much needed services to local people.

Store opening hours will be seven days a week from 6am until 11pm. Customer parking is available in front of the store.
