A group of pensioners were treated to an outing to attend the Lions District 105A senior citizens party held at Harrow Leisure Centre.
The party of 20, including members of Bletchley Pensioners Group and 10 people from the Irish Centre, Bletchley, joined nearly 800 guests from Lions clubs in the District at the annual event which started at the millennium and is now in its 14th year. The outing was organised by Bletchley Lions Club.
Entertainment was provided by Recollections, a duo who performed songs from the 60s to the 90s complete with appropriate costume changes. A light meal was provided together with copious amounts of tea and coffee. The second half entertainment was a demonstration of Indian music and dancing, which proved very popular with many of the guests joining in.
The trip was rounded off with a free round of bingo and a raffle. Bletchley Lions Club paid for the coach but all other costs were shared equally by the Lions clubs in the District.
A spokesman said: “We Lions like to help others, who are less fortunate than we are, and at the same time have fun with friends. Why not come and meet us. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm Abbey Hill Golf Course, Two Mile Ash. You can donate to the club via JustTextGiving, send a text to LION00£10 or any other amount.
