IT COULD be Christmas everyday in Greenleys as the local council confirmed they would be keeping their lights up all year.
The subtle LED strings were installed in December for the festive period around lamp-posts along Ardwell Lane.
But as calendars are being turned over to March, one resident questioned why the lights were still up in his area.
A spokesman from Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council confirmed there were no plans to take the lights down.
She said: “We bought the lights in December to celebrate last Christmas. Whereas before we had strings between lamp-posts, our new lights are wrapped around the poles. They’re all on timers too, so they’re not being switched on at the moment.
“It costs a lot of money to hire a cherry picker to take them all down, and then again to put them back up again in December.
“And we feel they’re subtle enough to leave them up - it’s not like they’re big Santa Clauses or Christmas trees!”
The spokesman added the lights could be used for a whole range of different events held in Greenleys over the course of the year.
