Following the success of three Rugby World Cup matches played in Milton Keynes, the council is looking for new sporting and leisure opportunities in the city.

If appropriate council-owned sites come forward, residents could see their ideas come to life, say chiefs.

Councillor Liz Gifford, the Cabinet member responsible for Community Services, said: “We want to hear from as many people as possible, and we want to hear all manner of ideas.

“Milton Keynes already has a reputation for unusual or more ‘out there’ sports, so nothing will be dismissed out of hand, an whatever we can do to encourage more people to take up sport and exercise, and pursue a healthier lifestyle, has to be good.”

Any outcomes from these ideas would dovetail into the council’s own existing Sport and Active Communities Strategy, which covers more traditional sports and activities, such as rugby, tennis and swimming.
