Thames Valley Police is appealing for help from the public after a 96-year-old man was the victim of a cruel distraction burglary at his home in Stoke Hammond.
Between 9.30am and 10.30am yesterday (Thursday) a man talked his way into the house of the elderly man by posing as a gardener.
The victim handed over £60 for gardening work and left his wallet upstairs whilst the offender went into the back garden. The elderly man went to check on the offender, but found he had left and taken his wallet containing £200.
The offender is a white man, around 50-years-old, 6ft tall, of slim to medium build, with brown hair. He had a scruffy appearance.
He was driving a blue van estate with a roof rack.
