Two neighbouring homes in Loughton were burgled in the space of 48 hours this month.

The first incident took place in Olde Bell Lane at about 7pm on Thursday, December 11.

Offenders stole the victim’s green Land Rover, registration CE54 NDX, after taking keys from within the house.

The second incident took place in the same street between 10.35am and 7pm, on Saturday December 13.

Offenders broke into the house via the front door and stole electrical goods, clothing and the victim’s black Mercedes car, registration KM14 XTD.

Thames Valley Police are reminding residents to make sure that they secure their homes and car keys, to prevent them from being stolen.

Car keys should not be left visible near to a door or window, but instead kept hidden out of sight and reach to avoid temptation.

Keys have been known to be fished out, via the letterbox, using a long pole, so make sure your keys are not left vulnerable.
