A man was assaulted whilst walking his dogs on Sunday morning.

The 64-year-old victim was walking the animals at around 8.10am in Livingstone Drive, Newlands, in a small car park area close to the canal and David Lloyd Leisure.

A man jogged towards him but then stopped and started waving his arms at the victim’s dogs, causing them to bark.

The jogger then had a verbal altercation with the victim and assaulted him, causing him to fall to the floor.

He then continued running towards the Grand Union Canal, leaving his victim with a cut lip, nosebleed and a sore hip but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender was white, around 40 years old, 5ft 11ins, slim and bald. He was wearing dark blue navy tracksuit bottoms and jacket and white trainers.
