A 45-year-old woman had her handbag snatched from under her head while she was resting on a grassed area in Bradwell Common on Wednesday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft which happened at around 1.50pm on the grassed area between Eelbrook Avenue and the Redway, which runs adjacent to the H5 Portway.
The woman was laying down with her earphones in and eyes closed, resting her head on her handbag. She did not see the offender approach but felt a tug on her handbag. She looked up to see the offender, who then ran off with the bag along the Redway and along Streatham Place.
The offender is a white man in his early 20s, 5ft 8in tall, of a slim build and with short blonde hair. He wore a white polo shirt, a grey hoody around his waist, light coloured jeans or tracksuit bottoms and carried a bag over his left shoulder.
PC Damien Freeman from Milton Keynes police station said “It is believed the same offender approached the female’s work colleague the previous day at the same time and asked if he could borrow his mobile phone.
“The victim’s colleague declined so the suspect asked if he could borrow his lighter before walking off towards the direction of Streatham Place. It is possible that it is the same male as he matches the description and he could possibly be looking for vulnerable people.”
