A man has been sentenced to 11 months’ imprisonment after being convicted of burgling a home in Milton Keynes.

Mark Machalke, 44, of Shipton Hill, Bradville, pleaded guilty to one count of dwelling burglary on the day of his trial at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday (October 6).

Between April 8 and 12 Machalke forced his way into a property in The Craven, Heelands, by breaking a window near the front door. He stole a laptop before exiting through the window.

After the sentencing, investigating officer Det Con Victoria McEwen said: “This sentence sends out a message that burglary offences are taken seriously and Thames Valley Police will conduct thorough investigations to ensure every effort is made to bring the offender to justice.”
