The former deputy headteacher of a city school has been charged with historic sex offences dating back to the 80s.
Simon Barry, 59, who worked at Meadfurlong School in Fishermead, now Jubilee Wood Primary School, between September 1989 and August 2004, was charged with two counts of indecent assault, two of gross indecency and 10 of making indecent images, when he appeared at Bedford Magistrates’ Court.
The charges relate to offences carried out on two boys in the 1980s, aged 11 and 12 respectively at the time. The alleged victims reported the offences in 2011 and 2012.
Mr Barry is due to appear at the same court on May 29.
