Teenager threatened with knife in attempted robbery

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery.

The incident happened in the Redway running parallel with Simpson Road, between Simpson and Walton Park at 4.55pm yesterday (24/11).

The victim, a 14-year-old girl, was walking along the Redway texting on her mobile phone when she heard someone running behind her.

She heard a shout and looked round to see a man with a knife. He demanded that she hand over her mobile phone.

The victim saw a car approaching and ran from the offender to the vehicle which had stopped and the driver called police. The offender ran off.

The offender is white, thin but with a muscular build, 5ft7ins, in his late twenties. He was wearing a black balaclava, a black glove on one hand, a black hooded top with a zip up the front, light blue jeans and grey and white training shoes. He spoke with a local accent.
