Two teenagers have been arrested after a burglary which saw a rusted pistol and a memorial disc stolen from a house in Fishermead.

An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the offence. The 17-year-old was later charged with the 18-year-old released on bail until May 14.

Between April 6 and April 9, thieves used a brick to smash the rear door of a house in Fishermead Boulevard, and stole the items which have great sentimental value to the owner and police are appealing for anyone who has seen the items, or who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the burglary to contact them.

Police believe the burglary is linked to an attempted burglary at a house in Trevone Court at about 8am on Tuesday, where a brick was thrown at the rear door, which caused a long crack but didn’t break it. The thieves did not gain entry to the house.

Any witnesses can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
