Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Simpson.
The offence happened at the house between 7am and 5pm on Wednesday, when thieves forced open a rear patio door at the house using a fork and spade taken from the garden shed.
Once inside, the offenders stole a quantity of American dollars, American travellers’ cheques and a money jar containing mixed foreign currency. A quantity of gold jewellery was also stolen.
Det Con Wendy Cissell, of the Priority Crime Team in Milton Keynes, is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information about the offenders to come forward.
She said: “I am also appealing for anyone who knows someone who has recently come into a large amount of foreign currency to contact me.
“As the nights are starting to draw in I would like to remind homeowners to ensure they secure all sheds and outhouses containing tools, or bring the tools into the house during the autumn and winter period, to prevent them being used by offenders to get into property.”
