Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an assault in Fishermead.

Sometime between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Sunday, a 26-year-old man left a local shop and was walking through shrubbery off Marlborough Street V8 when a man appeared from the bushes and stabbed him with a knife, causing cuts to his arm and shoulder.

The victim pushed the attacker away and ran off. He received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.

The attacker is described as black, 6ft or taller, slim, and was wearing a hooded top and a scarf covering his face.

Detective Constable, Darren Street, said: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone behaving suspiciously, or who has any other information which may assist us with our enquiries.

“The motive for the assault is under investigation and I’d like to reassure people that we are working hard find the person responsible.”
