Two employees from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Milton Keynes are aiming to cycle 3,000 miles across the United States this summer in a bid to raise money for charity.
John Webb and Thomas Rees will set off on their bikes from America’s west coast in San Francisco on August 19, and plan to arrive in New York 35 days later.
The pair, who both work in the firm’s tax department, hope to raise £10,000 in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support, The Stroke Association and Cancer Research UK.
Thomas, a tax advisor at PwC’s MK office, said: “The charities we have chosen are very close to our hearts, and we are really looking forward to contributing to the work that they do.
“This is by far the biggest endurance test that we have ever undertaken, but we are both keen cyclists and this seemed to be the ideal way that we can use our love for the sport to make a genuine difference to people’s lives.”
The challenge will see the two cover over 3,000 miles in just over a month, on a route that will cross cities, lakes and national parks in over 10 states.
