Daffy ducks the snow to train for marathon

Marie Curie mascot, Daffy, swapped snow for indoor training this week in preparation for the MKMarathon and Superhero Fun Run.

Daffy avoided the snow that blanketed the city this week – instead opting to take his training indoors to keep warm.

He was put through his paces during a workout at the Bletchley Leisure Centre, with personal trainer Adam Harwood.

Events Fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care, David Hedges, said: “Daffy has been forced to take training indoors with the snow we have had recently.”

The marathon and 1.5 mile Superhero Fun Run both take place on May 6, finishing at stadium:mk. To register for the marathon visit http://mkmarathon.com

Runners who are successful in securing their own place for the race can join Marie Curie’s Daffodil Team, which comes with a free running vest and fundraising kit, by visiting www.mariecurie.org.uk/running or calling 0845 052 4184.
