A young floristry enthusiast has won bronze in the Young Florist of the Year Category at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Daisy-Ellen Burgoyne, 21, who works in the floristry department at Frosts Garden Centre, beat off hundreds of competitors in a regional heat, before making it to become one of the just 16 finalists.

All entries were judged by a member of the British Florist Association, who presented winners with an Award on May 21.

Daisy has studied floristry since the age of 16, gaining her level four at Berkshire College of Articulator, before completing a Masters in Floristry in London with the Academy of Floral Art.

Daisy has been successful in previous years too, last year winning a silver award in the same category.

She said: “I feel so lucky to have got through to the final two years in a row and to come out with an award, I will definitely be entering my designs again next year.”

Managing Director at Frosts, James Frost praised Daisy for her achievement. He said: “Congratulations to Daisy it is great to see someone so young have a passion for floristry and she is an asset to our team.”
