The countdown to Strictly MK has begun with celebrity dancers announced and already in training for the big night.
Strictly MK will feature a ballroom and Latin spectacular on October 26 with a Juniors competition the following day on October 27.
The two-day event, at the Indoor Equestrian Centre at Slapton, is being hosted by JustDance, in conjunction with Lindsey-Ann Events.
Co-organiser, Lindsey Inchbald, said: “I am very proud that Strictly MK has attracted such wonderful sponsorship. Co-organiser, professional ballroom and Latin dance champion, Accursio Romeo, and I are so grateful to everybody who has got involved, and rolled up their sleeves, to make this event so very special.
“Our website reflects the overwhelming generosity of our sponsors, to include brand new motor cars to be auctioned on the night.
“Pro ballroom and Latin dancers will showcase spectacular dances for the enjoyment of our audience. Overall though, the ultimate goal of Strictly MK is to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Willen Hospice.”
Strictly MK will be hosted by former tennis ace and sports broadcaster, Andrew Castle, who will be joined by celebrity guest judges, Matt Baker and Richard Arnold.
All have danced as celebrities on the popular TV show, Strictly Come Dancing and understand exactly what the local celebrities have let themselves in for.
They will be tasked to steer the top four couples through to an exciting showcase final.
The Juniors event will welcome 15 formation dance teams, going head to head for the first ever Strictly MK Junior Championship title.
Each formation dance team has been carefully chosen to represent their primary/middle school with just one team crowned junior champions for 2013.The Mayor, Councillor Brian White, has bravely accepted the challenge of competing as one of the celebrity dancers, partnered by pro dance Davina Lawrence.
He will then return the following day to perform his show dance live at the Junior competition.
