A CITY developer has been shortlisted for one of the house building industry’s top awards.

Places for People, which helped to develop the new, upcoming sites at Wolverton park and Brooklands is in the running for the prestigious House Builder of the Year at the Building Awards 2011.

The group has a number of developments around the country including the 36-acre Brooklands site, which will see 2,500 new homes constructed over the next fifteen years.

They will also build schools, extensive green spaces, shops and offices as part of the largest residential project in Milton Keynes.

Project director at Places for People, Simon Elcock, said: “To be recognised in the industry by our peers is a tremendous accolade and a tribute to the creativity and professionalism of all the teams whose joint efforts and outstanding performances allow us to deliver award-winning homes and developments.”

The winners will be announced at a special awards night on April 7 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
