Dog attack in Newport Pagnell

A dog had to be put to sleep after sustaining severe injuries in an attack by another dog in Newport Pagnell.

The grey whippet, who was walking off the lead with its owner in Castle Meadow, began playing with a black labrador when a large black Alsation dog appeared nearby.

After the whippet approached the other dog and barked at it as it made its way into the meadow, a conversation began between the two women.

The Alsation owner then took her dog off the lead and it attacked the whippet, who was left with such serious injuries that it had to be euthanised.

There were no injuries to the Alsation, but it was also later put down.

PC Daniel Smith, of Newport Pagnell police station, would like to speak to the two men with the black labrador, who was wearing a pink collar, to get their version of the incident, which happened between 12.30pm and 1pm on Wednesday, April 2.
