The Living Room on Witan Gate is encouraging its well-shoed customers to donate their old shoes to raise money for charity, Harry’s Rainbow.
All types and condition of shoes will be welcomed, so whether customers have towering stilettos that have never seen the light of day, or much-loved loafers on their last legs, The Living Room will be able to put them to good use.
Donated shoes will be recycled to raise cash for Harry’s Rainbow - a charity committed to supporting bereaved children and their families in Milton Keynes (www.harrysrainbow.co.uk).
Kyle Stevens, General Manager at The Living Room commented: “With the average woman owning 34 pairs of shoes, we hope this initiative will be especially popular with our female customers! It’s a great chance for all of us to de-clutter, it prevents shoes going to landfill, and it’s all for a good cause!
“Everyone has shoes lurking at the back of the wardrobe which haven’t been worn for some time. All types and conditions of shoes are welcomed and can be donated at The Living Room at any time during March 2013.”
Odette from Harry’s Rainbow added “We’re delighted that The Living Room is supporting us in this way, and all the money raised will be used to purchase books and other resources, as well as towards the activities and Rainbow groups we hold for bereaved children and their families.”
