Dons game will see soldiers celebrated

A SOLDIER who had his leg amputated after being shot seven times will be guest of honour at Milton Keynes Don’s Armed Forces Day.

The event is due to take place on Saturday, November 5 at thestadium:mk when Dons taken on Rochdale.

Mark Smith of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, a Dons fan, had his right leg amputated after being shot seven times - six times in the leg and once in the shoulder. He hopes to have a prosthetic leg fitted in time to carry the match ball out on the day.

The Dons will wear a unique shirt during the game, with a poppy stitched into the usual MK Dons official shirt.
