Tales of dinosaurs, action heroes and monsters are a guaranteed hit with teens, so authors Steve Barlow and Steve Skidmore had students at St Paul’s Catholic School captivated during their visit.

The two Steves, both ex-teachers, have written more than 150 books together, including fiction and non-fiction, TV scripts and books devised especially for reluctant readers.

They shared their excitement for reading and writing with Years 7 and 8, telling stories, mixing comedy with theory and reading extracts from their dinosaur adventure, Return to the Lost World.

School spokesman Sue Joyce said: “We’d like to thank the two Steves for making learning such fun.”
