Driver hospitalised after crash with road sweeper

A driver is in a serious condition in hospital after colliding with a road sweeping vehicle this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash on the V5 Great Monks Street near to Stacey Bushes.

The 30-year-old Mazda 6 driver is now believed to be in a stable condition following the collision at around 10.40am.

The street sweeper, 58, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

PC Ian Stevens, from Milton Keynes Road’s Policing said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the two vehicles prior to the collision.

“In particular, I would like to speak the driver of two vehicles, one of which was following the road sweeping vehicle immediately prior to the collision, the other travelling directly in front of the Mazda immediately prior to the collision.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police by calling 101 quoting URN 383 (5/01).”
