AN inquest into the death of a 19-year-old man who was killed following a road collision on Monday has opened.

Rehan Ahmed Shafiq, a delivery driver from Fishermead, died at the scene of a road traffic collision which saw his silver Seat Ibiza collide with a lamppost on the B4034 Buckingham Road in Bletchley close to the junction with Newton Road and Shenley Road. Mr Shafiq was thrown from his vehicle during the collision.

Officers are investigating whether the incident is linked to a second separate collision, believed to have occurred shortly afterwards on the same road, near to the junction of Whaddon Way, involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a black Citroen Saxo. During the incident the vehicles collided, and the Corsa hit a traffic island. No-one was injured.

Three men from Milton Keynes, two aged 22 and one aged 24, were arrested at the scene of the second collision. The arrests were made in connection with the first incident and all three have been released on bail until September 26.

A full inquest will begin on February 12 next year.
