GREEN-FINGERED gardeners were rewarded for their efforts on the Eaton Avenue allotments at the annual general meeting of the Bletchley & District Allotment Association.

Bob Ellis won the ‘Best Allotment’ competition for the second consecutive year, receiving a certificate presented by the chairman, Dr Robin Rowles and a £25 voucher donated by Dobbies Garden World.

Runner-up was Richard Price, who also received a certificate and a £10 Dobbies gift voucher. Commendations were received by Carol Smith, Theresa Bishop and Peter Brazier.

A special award was made to Emma Tattam for her first year as ‘Best New Plot-Holder’. Emma received the Carol Smith Cup, a free meal for two at Colosseo Café in Fenny Stratford and one year’s free membership of Dobbies Garden Club.

A few spare plots are available and are likely to be snapped up in the New Year. Enquiries should be made at the Bletchley & Fenny Stratford Town Council’s offices at 74-76 Queensway, Bletchley, by telephone on 01908 649469 or by emailing townclerk@bfstc.co.uk
