I was really sorry to have missed last Friday’s Pride in Milton Keynes Awards.
It’s always a very special, emotional occasion, and perhaps the only time we get to applaud the many ordinary people who go to extraordinary lengths to put something back and make a difference to the community we live in.
We feature the many stories of bravery, selfless charity work and outstanding achievements of individuals and groups who work so hard to make MK a special place in which to live.
They are very humbling and help us appreciate the fantastic efforts of those who deserve recognition.
I would add my congratulations to everyone nominated for an award and to all the winners.
I’d also like to extend a big thank you to main sponsors Costa and Stanair, all the other sponsors who generously supported the event, and last but not least Nitin Ganatra who stepped at the 11th hour to present the awards.
Always an extremely popular and welcome guest in MK, he was his usual bubbly and entertaining self, and we would look forward to seeing him again.
Meanwhile there are just two weeks to before the Strictly MK charity dance show.
Anyone interested in sponsoring any of the celebrity dancers can do so byvisiting www.strictlymk.co.uk
