A NEW school can attribute its name to both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and a woodland planted by its children.

Jubilee Wood Primary School, in Fishermead, combines the old Meadfurlong and Penwith Schools, serving the community of Oldbrook and Fishermead.

Headteacher, Tony Berwick, said: “The children are enjoying belonging to the new school and already very proud of their new school uniform.

“We have a wonderful opportunity here to make sure the children - from the four year olds in reception to the children aged 11 in year 6 - learn and play together.”
