Royal baby Prince George will receive a first birthday card designed by a city student.
Children from The Webber Independent School entered a national competition to create commemoration cards for the young Royal’s first birthday, on Tuesday.
Creative Sophie Shrimpton was chosen as a runner up, winning a £20 gift voucher as well as having the honour of her card being sent to the palace.
A total of 53 entries were submitted which were all sent to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a memory stick as a keepsake of their firstborn’s special day.
Each student received a professionally printed card of their design as a souvenir.
Principal Sue Vig said: “Well done to all our children – their designs were creative and reflective of what a special occasion Prince George’s first birthday will be.
“July 22 will be another memorable day and through this wonderful competition our children have been able to play a part of history and contribute to the ‘memory box’ of the younger Royals.”
