Milton Keynes school has star backing for fitness

Team Superschools, an initiative that challenges local children to get active and raise funds for sports equipment for their school, has been working with children in Green Park Primary school.

Two hundred and fifty students were sponsored to take part in a series of fun exercises and learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Olympic hurdler Andy Turner was in attendance to cheer on the four to 11 year olds and show them what it takes to make it at the top.

Students were taken through a series of exercises throughout the day, from star jumps to sit ups and press ups.

So far they have raised an estimated £2,000-£3,000 in sponsorship for the school.

“Our aim at Team Superschools is to create a fun and exciting environment for children to raise money for their school through the power of sport,” said Jason.

“It is great that so many kids were involved in sport at Green Park Primary supported by Brioche Pasquier. It was a very fun and enjoyable day!”

Sponsored by Brioche Pasquier, Team Superschools is run by Olympic gold medallists Darren Campbell MBE and Jason Gardener MBE who are committed to inspiring children to take up sport. Annually they visit more than 35 schools to encourage a healthy lifestyle and raise money for local schools.

France’s most loved family bakery since 1936, Brioche Pasquier, has collaborated with Team Superschools to help raise money for primary schools through the power of sport.

“At Brioche Pasquier we encourage a healthy lifestyle, and sporting events like this show how much fun keeping active can be”, said Olivier Ripoche, Commercial Director at Brioche Pasquier,

“We know how important it is to keep up energy throughout the day which is why we are refuelling all children taking part with a brioche roll from our PITCH range. We also provide every child who takes part in these events with a pedometer, so they can see how active they have been throughout the day.”
