Bushfield Primary School officially opened the Asda Supermarket on Creed Street in Wolverton on Wednesday.
The school, based on Moon Street, was invited to launch the supermarket by manager Joanne Hurley.
As well as officially opening the new store, they were also the first customers to shop there, receiving a £50 gift card.
Store manager, Joanne Hurley, said: “We’re delighted the children could join us at the opening of our new store as we wanted to involve members of the local community to help us celebrate its arrival. The school is one of our closest neighbours and so we thought it would be great to have the children here for the opening.
“We’ll work hard to ensure we play our part helping our other neighbours out in the future by getting involved with future events and good causes.
“We wanted to bring the convenience of the supermarket to the high street, giving our customers the opportunity to complete a full weekly shop in our new, smaller stores. It’s great to see the doors open on our new store on.”
Andrea Curtis, head teacher at Bushfield Primary School, added: “It’s a real honour to be asked to open the new Asda on Creed Street and the children loved being the first to shop in the new store. We all think it’s a great addition to the area.
“We look forward to working in partnership with Asda in the future.”
Asda Supermarket Wolverton will bring more than 10,000 products to the high street, ensuring shoppers can complete their weekly shop with ease. Shoppers will be able to enjoy local products alongside a host of new services.
Shoppers will also be able to enjoy the same prices in this store as they do in larger stores as Asda Supermarkets, unlike other retailers, don’t believe customers should pay more to shop locally. All newly converted Netto stores will charge same low price as every other Asda in UK.
